Solar Panels for La Rinconada

Only a few weeks ago, it was 104 degrees in La Rinconada, Argentina. This kind of heat is dangerous in any context, but it becomes a significant obstacle in a desert with an unstable electrical system. During the heatwave, the entire region experienced an extended electrical outage, leaving the town with no air conditioning, refrigeration, or water pumps to pull water from wells. This latest electrical cut was just one of many throughout the year.

OUR PARTNERS IN THE UNITED STATES JOINED WITH ABRA, THE LOCAL ARGENTINA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION, TO PROVIDE SOLAR PANELS FOR THE CHURCH IN LA RINCONADA!

These panels enable local missionaries Fabian and Marcela Abregú to continue to serve the community when the power is down and help them remain in contact with their sending church. In being energy independent, the church can offer services and support to the community when there are power interruptions. It also means they can maintain consistent church services and power their home, refrigeration, and water pumps.
